Design. Dinner. Drinks. Swag. Prizes.
Have you ever been ghosted by a recruiter or suddenly ignored by a love interest? Perhaps there’s a message in your inbox sitting in limbo from someone following your work online, now looking to network in person over coffee.
We experience a considerable amount of interactions in front of a computer or on a smartphone, but when transitioning from online to offline, those connections can become muddled, lost, or sometimes never happen at all.
In this experiential workshop sponsored by Bumble, in collaboration with Onyx Valley, Field LabX, and Service Design Philadelphia, we'll use design to re-imagine these relationship transitions. We’ll examine common digital to in-person interactions and develop solutions that can finally make the transition from digital to real life work.
Throughout the experience, teams will have real "ghosting" interviews as the case study through which we’ll learn about and practice Service Design. We'll uncover user problems, make sense of findings, and use insights to begin mapping solutions.
No design experience is necessary to benefit and learn via this workshop. In fact, it was crafted with the design-curious in mind. Our workshop facilitators and Onyx Valley UX students will be available to support your learning.
Kyree is a proud native Philadelphian who has lived all across the city.
Originally on track to pursue a career in marketing, she serendipitously discovered the user experience field and fell in love with it. She is currently a User Experience Researcher, leading research efforts to enhance products and services and inform the design of future projects.
Now wanting to introduce others to the user experience field, she founded Onyx Valley, a community building organization designed to identify and prepare diverse talent for careers in the tech field.
Launched in 2016 out of the Institute of Hip Hop Entrepreneurship’s startup incubator, Onyx Valley has hosted several events and workshops to generate interest in user experience. Onyx Valley is currently gearing up to launch the first wave of projects for Onyx Valley Studios, a student-led design consultancy agency.
Kyree is a graduate of Howard University’s School of Business and completed her master’s degree in Design at Carnegie Mellon University.
